Last Tuesday, Mr, Gibson organ-

Grade nine and ten students. This
club plans to show filets every

Volleyball Notes..
• Chesley defeated. Lucknow in
volleyball last Wednesday but in.
all cases by a small margin only.
The next ;game is. in Walkerton
Tuesday. Qetober'18,then on
Thursday (tomorrow) here, -versus
Kincardine
Mud!. ,Must! Mud!
On. Thursday, students were
'bussed to the Ploughing Match at
Seaford'. They left at 9:;10 and •
returned at 3.45. The mud was
knee-deep but this failed to ruin•
the day, for all enjoyed it and re-
turned home exhausted
Radio, Club
The Radio Club interviewed.
•'many people at the Ploughing
Match. They held _ a trial run last.

Friday and will tape a show to-
morrow. This shout, their first,
will be heard Friday at noon.

The seventh meeting of the St,
Helens Happy. Handicrafters. was
held in the hall on Saturday. Oct-
ober 15th, with 21 girls present •
and the 4 leaders. The meeting,
opened with the 441. Creed follow-
ed by the roll call -"One. Charact-
eristic of a good tea biscuit",. The
minutes of the last meeting were
read. A discussion was held on tea
biscuits and the girls displayed the
"Nbiscuits they had trade at home.
Plans were made for the girls to
entertain their mothers at a supper
on Monday evening;
A demonstration was shown -to
the ' girls on -how to properly set a
table,. After this the girls and lead..
ers, sampled the tea biscuits with
° rt arrrialade and: jani which proved
'to be very good The meeting
closed with the 4-11 pledge,.
DONALD CAMPBELL
Donald Campbell passed away
at the home- of his niece, Mrs.
Kenneth Bridges of:Exeter m
day, October 13th in his. 77th
year, .
Mr. Campbell was born at Luck.
now on'October 31st. 1890, a son
of Donald. Campbell and Mary
Beaton. • ••
He is"the last member of a family
of six and was predeceased by two
brothers and three sisters, Roderick
Neil;, Mary, Isabelle and Kate.
Mr: Campbell is survived by
:several nieces and nephews.
He was retired from the C. P. R.
Telegraph, Toronto and for the.
past few years hadmade his home
with his niece, Mrs:. Kenneth
Bridges (the. former Mae McMahon
of •Lucknow) , '•
Funeral service was held on•Sat-
urday, October 15th from Mac-
Kenzie Funeral. Home, Lucknow
Rev. J;_C. Boyne was clergyman.
Pallbearers were Harry Lavas,
Robert. Campbell , 'Harold Camp""= a
bell, Jim Smith, John Eider, A.J.
Wilkinson.
Interment was at South Kinloss
Cemetery.

The eighth meeting of the Zippy
Zipnettes was held at the home of
Mrs, Ritchie.. The president .
Donna Ritchie opened the. meeting
with. the 4-11 pledge and: read the
.minutes of the last meeting.
It was.decided to have a.meeting'
next week to discuss. ,the -skit for
'A chievement Day. • ;
-Since this meeting included. the

menu was tomato juice',: 'Scalloped
potatot.s, cooped .peas and carrots,.
cabbage salad, jellied vegetable'
salad, bread and .butter, baked
apples, bran muffins,; tea and
coffee.

supper Mrs. Kirkland expressed
thanks to members and leaders for
inviting the mothers. '

at the Lucknow High School. The
meeting was Opened with -the 441
pledge. lane Monerfef read the

Steward fora meal of meat loaf -
and savoury salad, .which was pre-,•
pared by the girls.

for the eight winners to Chicago `

Contestants should submit entries
in essay form not exceeding 5,000
words, Judging will fall into four
categories, 75 pelt cent for con-
tent, ten percent to organization,
'ten per cent to style and five per
cent to Mechanics. The mechan
acs segment will be used. to $ppra•-
ise the grammatical construction.
