While Miss ilungerford 'visited •
here Mrs, Brinsmead went on to
New York to attend a Writer's' Con-
vention. She is a writer of child- '4
ren's books and attended the con-
vention as a delegate.
On Tuesday June 14th ,Mr, and
Mrs. Alton had a phone call from
their daughter Dorothy. The call
•was received here at 8 a „rn,
which is 8 p.m. in Australia. The
also met (by phone) for the first
time their prospective son -,in-law
David Harris, David and Dorothy
are being married, on•July, 2:3rd at'
Sydney.
They will have a "inter wedd-
ing". The weather. in Australia; is
just reversed,t0 ours.. Last TueS,
day June 21st .was Australia's 'short-
est' day and. colden month. But
they never have our severe winter
as the temperature is never below
40 degrees. •
