the Hugh Taylor farm on the •
south line• in Kinloss which had

Fisherman's Cove, Clam Lake.,
The Breckles sold their- Kinloss
property in 1957 to the present .

six. grandchildren and two .great
grandchildren. .

Freak Hail
Storm Hits Area
On Monday
"The: worst We ever saw"..as the
way one resident of:the 6th of
Ashfield described the freak hail
storm which hit-this'area shortly ,
' after 8 pm. on -Monday night.
• Oddly enough, in. Lucknow' the
weather was fine and we'didn't
•1 get even a drop 'of rain but on the-
:f sixth of Ashfield, and adjacent
areas ,'rain came down in'buckets
and hail stones left the ground
white ..Hail could still: be picked
up on the balmy June night ,an.
hour after it fell.
Gardens were 'stripped .and '
crushed by the pellets and corn,
grain and hay crops suffered in •
some areas, •We had not been
able to determine, at writing
-time, how extensive the darnage
had been but we were able to
'determine that the 6th of. Ashfield.
. got the storm in all its fury.

Reeve Answers To "Interference" Charges

Reeve George Joynt of Lucknow
advised The Sentinel. Monday
morning that he is calling for an
investigation. by the Ontario Pol-
ice Commission inregard to
"interference°"'' aocusations levell-
•~ed against: him •as Reeve in "regard'
to the recent resignation `of the
local police officer. Ernest Heffer'
man. •.
The Reeve•has .issued a 'warning
to all the people of Lucknow that
they will be -held liable for dero-
gatbry remarks. made against him'
'and thatthey would have to ans
wer to the police commission..'
Reeve Joynt told The Sentinel
' that the Lucknow police officer'
Ernest; Hefferrnan `gave him only
one reason for leaving his position
here, that being that his. wife did
not wish tomove to this commun-
ity. He'left his Lucknow job on a
..Saturday and commenced work
for' the Tilbury police department
.on a: Monday, atcordin.g to the
Reeve. •

reason he had, given in resigning. '

officially confirm this but the
letter had not been received on
Monday .of this week.
Rumour about the town has been
rampant since the police officer
resigned that the Reeve had
"interfered" with prosecutions in
regard to violations of the highway
traffic act and the liquor control
act. Reeve Joynt told The'•
Sentinel that he wasvery disturbed
about the' accusations' and had
decided in view of ;them to call
for an investigation by the Ontario
Police Commission. It::was while
talking to The Sentinel . that he
stated he wished to advise the>
people of this community, through
tris newspaper, to consider their
accusations carefully in view of
• the fact that they would have to
answer to the commission.

to be known as. the Huron -Bruce
High School District Board. ` •

Inspector Kinkead reported that
50 students from Lucknow were
attending Wingham District High
School and -thus were. paying
double fees . .
He said that the committee
recommended.approval since it
.wtas agreed' that the present Luck
now • High School would be acquit
ed by the Township School Area
of Kinloss and Lucknow for, the
amount of the debentures at trans-
fer of ownership, 'and since the
Lucknow Public Schooi Section,.
which is to •be added 'to the. Kinloss
Township School Area, includes
property in the County of Huron

now District High School and its c

purposes by assuming the deben-
tures on the building that will

Bylaw 50-66 was passed to, add '
certain properties in the County
of Huron, which now form part
of Union School Section of Lucknow
'to the Township 'School Area of
Kinloss.: All of Lucknow Public
'School section is added to the '
schVool•area of Kinloss and .Lucknow;

ittee received a request from
Morris. Township Council that
certain properties in .the north of
the township betransferred from
the support of the Morris Township
School Area to the Turnberry
Township•Schoot Area. •
Since this request, is :in agreement

Township Council, the committee
recbYnmended that this action be'•
taken and' Council passed the re-
quired bylaw`, number 51-66.

nosh that certain properties in
East Wawanosh be transferred from
the support of West Wawanosh •

County School Aiea Board oppose
any change •in• boundaries there

, taining the present boundaries
than for the requested transfer...

discontinue .the North Wellington
High School District as constituted
by bylaw 18-1951 and. to establish r
.new 'North Wellington High School'
District. '
The new District supersedes
Arthur High School District . Mount
rest High School District and

District, , A portionof the Town-
ship of Howick is now included in,
the District (Palmerston).
