COUNCIL MINUTES
The regular June session of the
'West Wawattosh•Township Council.
Was, held at 8.30p.in, on Tuesday
June 7th, with all members In •
attendance. •
The. minutes of the May meeting
were read and adopted.on a motion
by Councillors Sproul and Smyth.
Motion by Councillors Gordon
Smyth and. Harold Errington, "That.

On a motion by Councillors Lyon:

Township Council repealed: By-law
No. 11, 1924,. passed.on Decem
ber -13 , 1924, which is a by-law .to
raise. .$10;000 000. to aid in the con;
;unction of tile, stone or timber "
drains, preparatory topassing "a by-
' law to raise $200,000 for the same
purpose, upon approval from 'the •
Ontario Municipal Board.
It was moved by Councillor Lyon
and seconded by. Councillor Smyth
-"That. this Council approves the
erection of a predominantly,voca
tionnal addition and alterations to
the present Wingham • District High'
School building to accommodate. ,
an additional 510•, pupils; and the
issuance of debentures on the ass=
essment: of the combined. Lucknow
and Win ham ; District High School .

On a motion by Councillors Err-
ington and' Sproul, Council agreed
to raise the grader operator's salary

On a. motion by Councillors
Smyth and Errington, the Clerk was
instructed to write E. It. Uderstadt,
0. L. S. of Orangeville to have, him
undertake the examination. and, sur-
vey of the Dungannon Drain, as
'soon as possible.
The Treasurer had received the
report, for 1965 of the auditor, . A.
M. Harper,. and this report was
examined by Council at this point..
It • was noted from the,report that
the Police Village .of Manchester,
(Auburn) had set the mill rate at
20. mills, whereas the highestrate
chargeable by a police village is
15 mills. The Clerk was instructed
to write the Village. Clerk informin;
the Village to rearrange the budget
and reduce this rate, to the 15 mills''
On a' motion by :Councillors Smyth
and. Errington the Auditor's Report •
'for 1965 was adopted,
.By-law. Number 12, 1966, was
given three readings and finally •
passed on a motion by Councillors
Smyth and Sproul'. This by-law
sets the,salary for the Road Super-
intendent at. $1,50 per hour.
