The June meeting of the Luck -
flow Women's Irtstitutv was held
• in 'the -Institute rooms. on. Friday
.evening with Mr's. :Omar. Brooks., •;
presiding. Mrs,. A. J. Wilson -
read the minutes and took•.tire
roll call which was well .answered
by "what I admire most in elderly
ladies," The secretary: reported
that there is still need. of billets
for members of the convention , ,
whicli.is to beheld in Lucknow on
September 8th and 9th.' ' . ' ' .
Members of the'Lucknow Wom-
en's institute will serve tea at the
Southampton. Museum on' July':14th;
Plans for the. picnic were'made to
be held at Point' Clark :-on Tuesday,
June 28th; As -the Institute'does
not .have a bus trip.,. 'it was suggest-
• ed that the cars be paid by the
•Institute, A donation of $30.00
was sent to the Retarded Camp
fund; to send.a local child .to the.
damp. :. • ,
A copy of the pictures which.
were.talJen of the members at the
May meeting were shown, 'and'
orders taken from those who desir-
ed 'one,,
The Institute plan to have a
booth at the Lucknow Fall Fair in
September.
A report on the•Cheerio Comm-
ittee, was given by Mrs, Charles
- Steward, and on the Rest Home,
by Mrs. 1W. j.. MacKenzie. •
Mrs, George.Saunders then pres-
ided and read a poets on ".Grand
mothers" which was the theme
of the program. "0 Canada". Was
sung.with Mrs. John Emerson pres-
iding at the piano for the meeting.
Readings on "Grandmothers" were
given by Mrs, Ed Thom. Joanne.
• Thompson. played an enjoyable
•"piano solo, The motto, "Age is
not a matter oryears, but a state
of mind".. was prepared by Miss
Mary MacLeod, and read by Mrs.
Charles Steward,
Mrs, 'R, H. Thompsort gave a
wonderful report on the Bruce
South District convention which
w.as held in Ripley., we.. Kather-•
ine MacDonald spoke.priefly on
the. Tweedsmuir books which were/.
in Ripley at the convention..
Readings were given by Mrs.
George Elliott on "Who, will take
Grandma"., , and by Mrs. Chas.
'Steward on "Granny's of Today"
Wanda Huntergave a very inter-
esting talk, her topic ..being ,"What.
' is a Canadian" She was thanked
..by Mrs, Chas.,'Steward , who also
presented her with a gift on'behalf
of the Institute.,
Following the Queen, Grace was
sung and Kinch served by. the •
hostesses.: '

new Kingsbridge Separate School .
with 21 members present. The,
meeting was opened with,the Legg-
ue prayer led by Father Caruana. •
Mrs; Fran Reigling presented the
award of the Past Residents Pin
to Mrs. Marie Hogan and thanked
her on behalf of all the C..WL.
members•:for her.work during '65
- '66. The Executive's and Con-
•venor's reports were given. Mrs.
ilia, Howard explained the devot-
ion to ;the,Sacred Heart and it's
beginning through St. Margaret •
Mary.. The Educational Convenor
read., a poem 'Example". She ex-
plained that to have a. healthy
parent and child relationship that
one. should set a• good example
and to "do as •I do, not as I say.."
Rev, Father Caruana, Mrs, Fran
Reigling, Mrs: Audrey Carver,
'and Mrs. Rita Howard; attended
the -49th C...W..'L. Convention in
London. Mrs. Carver reported
the events of the Convention to
the members. Mrs. Carver will
'represent "the League at the Prov- .
• incial Convention to be held in
Toronto at the'"Inn on the Park"
on July 6, '7' and 8th. • Mrs. Grace
Austin; Mrs. Vivian Hogan, and
Mrs.. Clarice Dalton volunteered
to take some patients of the Ont:-.
• ario Hospital on a picnic in Aug-
•ust.': The. Seaforth Council and
the Goderich Council invited the
ladies in the area to their annual
.tea to be held on June 15th and •
June
2ndgrespectively. 'Final
Junearrangements were made to cater
to over one thousand people on •
July 3rd at the, annual Kingsbridge'
garden party.. ,The meeting was
closed with' a prayer and The
Spiritual Director imparted his
blessing„ after 'which a lunch was
served,

'humorous reading was given by ;
• Mrs. S.' Snobelen. A trio consis-
ting'of Mrs. Perrin Lowry ; Mrs.
. Ernie Gibson and Mrs. 12, Court-
, ney was followed with an interest -
'frig contest by Mrs, William :Ferg-
uson'. A reading by Mrs. L.
• Courtney on "Marilyn learning to
drive", .Instrumental music
was•giveri by Mrs, Roy MacKen-
zie of Ripley , and a humorous
reading by Mrs. 'R.. Rutledge ,
brought the program' to a close.
