Al Baker of Lucknow .suffered a
badly gashed left hand about ten • '
. days ago when filleting some fish
he had caught
Al'was using a butcher knife
which slipped severing a tendon,
'on his. "little finger" and injuring
• 'another tendon.
After receiving medicalattent-
ion here, Al was • sent on to London
where the injury was 'attended: to.
The Sentinel mailing list was.,
corrected last weekend and all
payments received up. until Thur
sday of last week should be cred-
ited -accordingly.

Debbie Murray,: 6 1/2. year old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
• Murray 'of Kinloss Township, under
went surgery at St. Joseph's Hosp'-
' ital in London last. Friday morning.
,The youngster was able to return
home on Saturday and is progress-
ing quite well,
' Debbie. a grade one pupilp at
Kinloss Central School, has 'been
bothered with a` hoarseness since
She -started to talk as an infant.
The growth of a clump of foreign
tissue on the larynx was the •cause
of this, •and medical advice was
'to have it 'removed. •
The main stipulation in.the con
•:valescing period, was to keep
perfectly., quiet for several days,
with no talking, and .with a young
fare ly at home, this was better
achieved at grandpa and grandma'

spent the early part of the week.

dine Hospital on Sunday of this
.week. The office at. Ripley; is
temporarily vacant but it is
expected 'that a new clerk will

Mr:. and 'Mrs. Orville .Elliott
of Holyrood have purchased' a lot
from Roy Finlayson of Lucknow
and construction of a new home '.
will commence shortly..
The lot is located to the west
• of the Finlayson home on Ross
Street; or Quality Hill, as it is'' •

sales • The Elliotts will live
temporarily in the farm home
of Bill Eadie at Holyrood until
their •new home is ready. Mr.,
,,and Mrs. Eadie moved last Sat-
urday to their recently purchased.

Mr,, .and Mrs; A. M. Lewis of
Detroit have moved back to their.
farm on the' 6th of Huron where
they spend the summers. The
farm is known to many as the
"Thomas 'MacDonald place". Mrs.
Lewis was the, former Pearl Mac

Mrs. Alvin Hackett of Belfast,
who was injured in a motor .acc-
ident in Wingham about ten days
ago. was expected to be able to
return home : from Victoria Hosp-
ital in London this, week.
Mrs. Haekett received a fract-
ured jawIn the accident and •
plastic 'surgery was required on
her face. The accident occurred .
on. Saturday., April 9th, .about the
'supper hour. .Mrs. ' Hackett was
proceeding easterly into Wingham
through lower town, the old high
way 86 route= when she was in
collision on .the large lower town
bridge'with a car proceeding west-
erly,
est-erly, driven by Joseph Laperle of
Ethel and owned by Walter. Sage
of Ethel. A passenger in ;the 4.
Laperle vehicle, Art Cooper,
received bruises to his nose and
.neck.` Another passenger, Mrs.
Cooper,' and the driver; were not
injured.
Mrs.. Hackett, who was alone
in her car, was thrown, against
the steering; wheel' in the impact.
She was admitted rto Wingham
Hospital and later removed to
Victoria Hospital in.London..
•Both cars received -extensive
damage.

of repairing the stained glass
windows on the north and.south
upstairs the front and the tower
of the church. .The same type
of job was done on'tbe basement
windows about :four years ago.
the' window job is being done
by Bullas Glass of Kitchener,
who aro removing the windows
and renewing and: repairing the
lead. Through the years. the
weather and deterioration has
taken its toll,, ' and the present job
being done .will prevent further
deterioration from exposure. A
plain clear glass is being installed
outside the .stained' glass windows
which will protect the windows: -
from the weather as well at giv-
ing further insulation value for
the church building.
The stained windows have to
.be taken away for repair and.
'a clear glass is being installed as
a temporary measure.
Cost of the Object at the
church; which is a major one; ..

Mrs, Keith Collyer of Winghatny
25-year=Old mother'of two ,
children, was severely burned on .
64 oilier body in a household
accident at her Wingham home
last Friday ;evening. She is in
London's Victoria 'Hospitah. :Her
condition on the.weekend was . .
critical but was slightly' improved
at; writing time on:Tuesday,
Details of theacc'ident are
sketchy but it is .believed thatthe
igniting of lighter fluid:. in the
basement of the Collyer home set
her clothes on fire,
Her husband Keith Collyer,. 'a
former Lucknow resident, was
resting on the main floor of the. '
• house and ,was awakened: by .his
wife's.screams"fot'help. Her .'
clothing was on fire and Keith
managed to extinguish .the tire
by using water.; :.
Mrs, Collyer was given medical..
attention at Wingham Hospital
and .was immediately rushed to
London. '.Keith was admitted; to
"Winghatn Hospital with burns to
hit hands and arms which he rec-
eived
ec-eived .in aiding his wife.
Keith is an orderly at Wingham
Hospital and resided in .Lucknow'
for many, years, Mrs. Collyer is
the former Mary Piunhett of •Aub
urn. The couple redently.moved
to their :Wirigharn home .after res-
iding for some time, at Wtj•itechter
ch. They have two 'children,.

outside at the time, and Sharon,,
