The death of Brown Harper of
W est Wawanosh Township =cuffed
in Wingham Hospital on Tuesday,
April 5th.. He. was 77,'years of age.
The funeral was conducted
from the, MacKenzie Memorial.,

burial in Greenhill Cemetery,

detail involved in forming a com-bined Lucknow and, Kinloss school
area. It is the intention, as .prey-

to become one and make use of •'

• A suggested revised salary sched-
ule was proposed by teachers at
the. Lucknow Public School and

meeting.:
The Lucknow Board received a
letter from the: Huron,County Sch-
ool Area. Board No. 2 advising
them that effective the end of
June this year, all Ashfield'and
- West Wawanosh pupils, whose
tuition the Huron board has-been
responsihle for at 'Lucknow Public -
School, will be withdrawn from
the Lucknow school.
The Huron board has been
"Buying" the education from
Lucknow Public School for a
number of pupils who reside in
an area close to Lucknow but`.
next year, the., pupils will all be
absorbed into the Ashfield -West.

Lucknow Fire Department have
received a 'raisetin _pay, double: .
what they'were receiving'before.
At the April, meeting of -Luck
now village' council', the annual
allowance. to the firemen was set
at $2000 with a $150 honorarium.
to the fire chief. The allowance
had previously been $1000 plus
the $150 honorarium.. '
This money is divided among
the twenty man departrnent acc-
ording to the number of fires each
attends in the village as well as
meetings, 'practices, etc.. If a
fireman is' a regular attender,. he
receives' more. If he is a poor
attender, he;receives.less.
In addition to this amount, the
firemen are paid an hourly. rate
for 'all rural fires they attend,
