Sixty black squirrels, .moved out.

Endless chant of. kids, skip.
,ping, Moose bellowof impatient .
steamers its the bay, waiting for
break-up. Fire sirens saluting
the 'annual epidemic of grass .

Bitter lines around months
turtling to smiles. Overcoats and '
boots Warted :into closets. Paint
pets 'broken out. Teenagers
standing oa corners, bunting
like young calves. Women's hats .

Perhaps you can, but I can't

•Mr.s, James Beaton of Lucknow'
passed :away^in Wingham and Dist
rict Hospital; on Wednesday, March.
30th, in her 80th year.
She was the former Annie Mac-
Kay, born in Ash°field Township,
on February 10th,1887 , , a dough-
ter of Murdoch MacKay' and !so -
belle MacRae. On February 27th,;
1913, she married James Beaton,
of Elbow Saskatchewan., Mr. •
Beaton was formerly of Kinloss
Township but had gone to Mani-
toba ,in 1904 and on to Saskatche-
wan in. 1907 and took up 'a home-
stead.
Following their marriage 'he ..
returned with his bride. to Elbow ,
Saskatchewan, where Mr, and Mrs.
Beaton remained. until 193'1 when ,,
they returned•to Kinloss. Township
and bought the former McCharles
farm on the 2nd concession.
In 1958 Mr 'and Mrs. Beaton
sold their farni' and purchased a
home on Stauffer St. in Lucknow
where they have since resided
Mrs..Beaton is survived by her
husband; )five daughters, Mrs.
Stewart (Isobel) Mullin of . Lucknow
Mrs. George (Margaret) Book, of
Loreburn, Saskatchewan, Mrs,
George (Murdena) Robinson of
Trenton, Mrs, Harvey .(Rebecca)
Culbert of Dungannon, .Mrs. Rob-
ert (Florence); Krogan of Elbow
•Saskatchewan; two sons, George
and Janies of lucknow; four sisters`

FlorenceEdwards of Goderich,
Mrs. Margaret MacKenzie of
Lucknow , Mrs. Mary Lockwood
