Bills To Pay Up r'
Those in the village meeting
the responsibility of paying their
dog licence have become fewer
't and fewer in the last few years.
In '1963 , there were 69 dogs
registeredin the village with 1000/o
• of them paying their dog taxi.. In
,1964; 70 dogs were listed and at
a ` the end of the year 7 fees were
still outstanding. At the end of
A this past year ,1.965 , there were 75.
dogs registered in the village and •:-
2.9 people failed to'pay their lic-
ence fee, '•
The dog population is growing.
r •This year, 88 dogs are registed
in the.village and statements for
* dog taxes will.go out next week.

Boards. The meeting -,was held at'
Lucknow .District: High School.

Board, presided` at the meeting.
Keith Waldie, public school in-
spector of Walkerton was present,
as was'Donald Scott, inspector
of secondary schools. from 6London,
Mr. 'Hunter explained that the'
meeting two weeks .prior' had de-
cided 'that

councils and, that the municipal,
representatives would report' back

last meeting, Huron County School
Area No; 2, comprising .A shfield.
and West W aw anosh Townships,
'had' advised him that they were not
interested in, making use. of the
Lucknow District .High School for
•.a proposed senior elementary
• school. He. said' he had noticed
in the newspaper. where.Lucknow
and Kinloss were: prepared to join
if the school did become available.
He explained that Reeve, Donald
MacKenzie of Ashfield'had been •
unable to ,be present but had been,
in touch with .Mr. -Hunter,; the
Ashfield representative ori the
Lucknow High School Board.

that the Ashfield . board •had. me t
and decided that they would leave
it with the 'High School board to
decide: Mr. MacKenzie had re-
marked that they were concerned
withthe, welfare of the village of
Lucknow. He said it was .a good
farmers' town and that• it needs
us and we need it. He had told.
Mr. Iunter that if ft -would affect
the industrial development of
Lucknow ,,he would want them, to.
possibly take a second look.. at the
matter before making' a decision.
However, the decision.was' left
to the school board. •f

Lucknow for some time and recent-
ly moved to Atwood, will return -
to the village to live.' Cec has
purchased the property of Harold
Tanner on Rose Street West.
Possession of the property is to
be obtained on'July 1.st and Mr.
and Mrs. Tanner plan to move to
Wingham where Harold is employ-
ed at Lloyd Truax.
