I would like to ask you,`,some pertinent questions. • r (1) • Have you in thelast year met as an eight man board to, really study the advantages and disadvantages of closing, the High School' without a teach er or in- spector present? (2) Is vocational training at the grade 9 •and 10 level desirable? Is it going to turn out useful• Citi- tens? Do not alleducators stress the importance of the study of the General Arts? .Do not all our tech- nical colleges give preference to students who have taken the gen-' - era arts, course rather than'to. those who have nothing but voca- tional training?,. Do you wish to. be training students to be mechan ical robots? Once a child starts a vocational course he cannot change to the arts course but he, can take th ' arts. course and changi to vocational study later. (3) Have you consulted with/ other boards and. areas who have not been influenced byinspectars': or administrators' opinions?. Have you consulted with boards who havi gone into' a vocational area, have ,seen their Mistake and now wish to withdraw to .their former High Schools? There are many . such areas• but you do not hear about them from those who are shifting. their° responsibilities and closing the school, or from inspectors with grand ideas.
