'Nine ladies met in. the Town
Hall 'on Thursday evening to. dis,
cuss the affairs: of the Lucknow sec-
tion of the Walkerton. Branch of the
Canadian Cancer Society. Luck-
now was organized as a branch of
the Walkerton Unit of the C.C.S.
on - February 22, 1962. However, •
the branch faileid to function. So
in :April 1964 a meeting was held
to discuss thefuture of the Luck-•
now brancli. *NO one, would accept
an office but a group of women
offered to conduct a campaign,
as part of the Walkerton branch.`.
That year, .$630.00 was raised in . '
a door-to-door canvas. Last year;
$700.00 was contributed by the
community
• It was decided `to hold a general
meeting again •this`year to see if
there were any more interested
persons who would come. Mrs. L.
L. MacMillan presided at the mee-
ting. Mrs. 1. C, McKim read.the
minutes of the previousmeeting •
and summarized the committee's
activities since then;
It was decided to hold .a• door.to
door canvas again this year during.
the last week of April, . Mrs;: J.
• McKim was elected campaign; •
chairman. • Mrs. Ken Chester acc-
epted the office of secretary -treas-
urer, and: Mrs. J. MacMillan. agr-

to act.as chairman of the Luck-
now committee.
