Ontario have had some useful
sight restored .as' a.result of power
ful glasses' and training .in their
proper use. Thisinformation: was
reported at the recencannual coir
ference of Ontario Field Secretar-
ies for the •Canadian, National In-
stitute' for the Blind held in Toro
to use theta. She cited the case
of a blind man who eventually re-.
tumed4o a sales job :.as a result of
the program., She illustrated how..
the program helped housewives by
giving them enough sight to read •
labels of food tins in shoppi'g cen-
tres. ,

stated that. although the results of
this new CNIB retraining program
'give good 'reason for optimism

gram must 'first undergo a thorough
eye >examination at the low vision
clinic in Toronto. :They`must then
take on a heavy training program...

people with even a tiny bit of vis
ion was being broadened and now

has •become lazy or inactive, can
in some cases be improved consid-
erably with the aid; of powerful
lenses and long hours of learning

Perth Tuberculosis: Association off-
ice during her visit in. Stratford.
Of •the 110 patients (natives) in
'the hospital, 864 are tuberculous,
Miss Robertson states. A ' lot of the
tuberculous patients are children.
• They, are kept separate, of course,
and a separate Sunday School is
held for the children.
Miss Robertson teaches the stud-
ent nurses and will takeck from'
