. ry uch : •' .
We received varying comments
about the new look, some favour-
able,: some not too favourable:
The percentage'of subscribers who ;
did comment 'was actually very
small, •
,It is understandable that there is
a hesitancy to.accept any change; "
whether it be a'new, car or the
same can of peas with -a different.
label. This is human nature it
'seems.. We hope that our subscri-•
bers• will grow accustomed to our
new appearance as present'indic-
ations would show' .it to be here to
stay.
'A few words of::explanation on
how the Sentinel is' published. might
be in order'.. Upon switching our '
printing: operation to •a London
firm specializing in the printing •
of newspapers two months ago, we
endeavoured to advise the public
on what `had happened but we seem-
ed to have failed .miserably in some
cases. .Some thought that we no
longer had anything to do with
thee publication of the Sentinel`
One lady commented, "what a
loss to the town" believing that
Lucknow had, lost an industry 1
suppose.: Many others, in their
remarks to•us, indicated that they
had little knowledge of what had
taken place. •
We hope,to be able to clear the
subject Slightly, but to those who
know nothing of the printing in-
dustry,'It is "a little hard to get the
message `across,
Firstly,' we still cover news
events and handle advertising in
the same manner with the excep-
tion; The advertiser used to use a,
cardboard "mat" which` in turn we
used in our lead 'caster pouring hot
liquidmetal into the "mat" with
the metal hardening, and leaving
4 an impression of the advertisement
