The treatment of 'many thousands of cases
of .those chronic weaknesses and distressing
H1 enta peculiarto females, at the -Invalids'
otel and Surgcal Institute, Buffalo, N. Y.,
has afforded a vast experience in nicely adapt- -
iag and thoroughly testing remedies for the
cure of woman'seeuliar maladies.
Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription
is the outgrowth, or result, of this great and
valuable experience. Thousands of testimo-
nials, received from patients and from physi-
cians who have tested it in the more aggra-
vated and obstinate cases which had baffled
their skill, prove it to be the most wonderful
remedy ever devised for the relief and cure of
suffering women. It is not recommended as a .
sure -all" but as a most perfect Specific for
woman's peculiar ailments.
As a powerful,invigorating tonic,
it imparts strengtto the whole system,
and to the womb and its appendages in
particular. For overworked, worn - out,"
"run-down," debilitated teachers, milliners,
dressmakers, seamstresses, "shop -girls," house-
keepers, nursing mothers, and feeble women
generally, Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription
is the greatest earthly boon, being unequaled
as an appetizing cordial and restorative tonic.
As a soothing and strengthening
nervine "Favorite Prescription' is une-
qualed and Is invaluable in allaying and sub-
duing nervous excitability, irritability, ex-
haustion, prostration, hysteria, spasms and
other distressing, nervous symptoms com-
monly attendant upon functional and organic
disease of the womb. It induces refreshing
sleep and relieves mental anxiety and de-
spondency.
Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription
is a legitimate medicine, carefully
compounded by an experienced and skillful
physician, and adapted to woman's delicate
organization. It is purely vegetable in its
composition and perfectly harmless in its
effects in any condition of the system. For
morning sickness, or nausea, froth whatever
cause arising, weak stomach, indigestion, dys-
pepsia and kindred symptoms, its use, in small
doses, will prove very l,enclleial.
"Favorite Prescription" is a posi-
tive eur9 for the en,„t nanplirnted and ob-
stinate cases of louenrrhoa, excessive flowing,
painful menstruation, unnaturid suppressions,
hrohipsus, or tailing of the womb, weak back,
female weakness,” nu tovoreion, retroversion,
bearing -down sensations, chronic congestion,
inflammation and ulceration of. the womb, in-
flammation, pain and tenderness in ovaries,
accompanied with t}pd heat."
As a regulator and promoter of func-
tional action, at that critical period of change
from girlhood to womanhood, "Favorite Pre-
scription " is a perfectly safe remedial agent,
and can produce only good results. It is
equally efficacious and valuable in its effects.
when taken for those disorders .and derange.
ments incident to that later and most critical
period, known as " The Change of Life."
«•Favorite Prescription 'r when taken
in connection with the use , of Dr. Pierce's
Golden Medical Discovery, and' small laxative
doses of Dr. Pierce's Purgative Pellets (Little
Liver Pills), cures Liver, Kidney and Bladd
diseases. Their combined use also remo
blood taints, and abolishes cancerous
scrofulous humors from the system.
"Favorite Prescription" is the only
medicine for women, sold by druggists, under
a positive guarantee, from the ,mann-
facturers, that it will give satisfaction in every
case or money will be refunded. This guaran-
tee has been printed on the bottle -wrapper,
and faithfully carried out for many years.

FARM NOTES.
There are said to he fifty-two
kinds oi'ahee? in the world.
Sheep do hatter in small locks,
and when only a few are shedded
together.
The pig, says one, will pay just
as good profit as the cow, provided
he has as good care.
The more sheep a man can keep
on a given area the smaller will be
the cost of produotipn.
Young pigs shoatd get all the
waste milk. Milk and bran with
boiled small potatoes will force
them on better than any -other
food.
Fattening should not be attempt-
ed until the animal is large enough
to he marketable, with two months
more or less feeding to fat, the best
results are generally attained.
When the farmer begins to esti-
mate the value of sheep from the
standpoints of meat, fertility and
general advantage to the farm, he
will not allow the market price of
.wool to determine whether. or not
he will raise them'.' • ,
To cure poisoned sheep, take rue
leaves, as many as you can grasp
between thumb and forefinger.
Bruise them; squeeze the juice in-
to;half a teacup of water,and drench
the sheep with it. If the sheep are
poisoned very bad, drench the' sec-
ond time, which will never fail to
cure.
Do not over -fatten, says the Rur-
al New Yorker. Thin, meaty pork
is best for use and for sale. The
last of the feedingputs on the least
weight, and ofourse costs- the
most, while it m es the least mon-
ey. Early marketing is, as a rule
the most profitable for the seller.
The Minnesota State Agricultur-
al Society does some things on. a
grand scale. Its total expenditure
for th e past year' was a little over
$100,000, of which there was paid
for premiums and awards, $10,000,
for race pusses and attra3tions,$19,-
000, and for a sham battle, $12,000.
The receipts reached $104.,000, pf
which $56,000 was from the sale of
tickets, and $29,000, a grant from
State. The society has 200 acres the
for grounds, the value of which is
placed at $400,000. t
A writer in the Prairie Farmer
says that while a stallion is confin-
ed in a stall or paddock he should
be given some companionship' if
possible. Solitary confinement is a
,ter..ble thing for a horse, as well
for a man, and subjected to it he
may grow morose, and finally vic-
ious. If you would have your
horse kind and gentle, this writer
says, never lose your temper 'or
give him harsh words and cruel
blows, but treat him with firm and
dignified kindness.
Mr Francis Malcom, of Innerkii',
county of Oxford,• gave his experi-
ence in supplying t1 a cheese fac-
tory last year. His herd consisted
of twelve cows and five heifers, the
aggregate of whose milk was 108,-
000 pounds for the• season, or an
.average of over 6000, pounds.
The average value of the milk per
cow was $64.00, notwithstanding
that the season was unusall-y_
favorable for the grazing Mr
Malcom, however, gave a mess of
bran to each.of h;s cows during the
period of drought, and the yield of
milk was maintained until the close
of the season.
SWEET FLOWERS.
The fairest buds are often the first
to wither, and the ravages of disease
make havoc with the beauty, as well
as the strength and happiness of the
fair- sex. The prevalent disorders
among American women are those of
a most distressing description. These
" weak nesies," as they are suggestive-
ly termeu, insidiously sap the health,
and the patient becomes pale and
emaciated, the appetite grows fickle
and feeble ; she losses strength as the
attacks increase in severity, and is in
despair. There is relief for all such
sufferers in Dr Pierce's world -famed
Favorite Prescription,which cures all
" female complaints." Its use is fol-
lowed by cessation of the •' dragging -
down" pains, return of appetite, and
in due course, vigorous health.
