OYR CHEESE EXPORTS.
The following is a comparative
statement of the cheese exported
from Montreal during the first three
months of the season, and it is sig.
nificant to note that the value of
cheese exported during July was
the largest on the export list. The
value for the two months was the
largest in the history of the trade,
exceeding 1881 by nearly $400,000.
the statement shows that our Cana•
dian farmers received $1,160,000
more money than was realized
last year. The following shows the
exports of cheese from Montreal
from May 1st to July 31 :-

the Willard Tract -Depository, died
last week at his residence, Yarkdale.
The deceased was well known to all
who had occasion to do business
with the Depositony, in which he
has held the position of manager
for nlauy years.. die was also wide-
ly known as an active and earnest
worker in connection with the Meth•
odist church, a constant advocate of
temperance, and author of a number
of valuable. tracts and pamphlets on
religious subjects.

WHEAT. -No. 2 red winter was wanted
at 84c. present delivery. No. 2 fall is
nominal at 3311c and No. 2 spring at 81e
to 82c. N1).,A hard 1.l Manitoba is quoted at
85cto88.
BARLEY -Trade is dull, with ray little
offering as yet. No. 2 is quoted at 55c to
560.
OATS.- Chere is a moderate demand and
prices rile steady. New sc. d at 35c on
track, and old are nominal at 37c,
PEAS. -Trade is dull, and in absence of
sales, prices are nominal at 57e to 58c for
No. '2'.
BU7"i' n. -'fie supply. is moderate and
the demand good, with sales at 18e to 20e
for good to choice dairy. itound lots in
the country are quoted at 16e to lie.
There Lave been very few sales of August
creamery owing to the high prices asked,
the figures being 23e to 24c for shipment.
In consequence of this it Canadian shipper
has been filling, his orders in Chicago at
20c to 21c,
Boas. -There is a god supply, and
prices are about steady at 15c a dozen in
round lots.
CittotAn.-There is a fair demand with
sales at 12c in small lots,
POTATOES. -Receipts are increasing and
prices steady at 85c to 90e per bag in car
lots and at $1 to $1.10 for small lots.
Wow,. - The market is steady,
receipts being moderate. Good fleece
brings 20c to 21c, selections 22c to 23c,
and rejections 17c to 18c. Southdown,
25c to 26c.

The fruit in the market was plentiful to-
day and prices weakening. Plums brought
from 30c to 75c; pears, 40c to 50c ; corn -
mon peaches, 50e to $1 ; Crawfords, $1 to
1.50 ; apples, 30c to 40c by basket and $1
to $1.50 per barrel; crab apples, 20c to 25c;
watermelons, $20 to $25 per 100 ; mush.
melons, $4.50 to $5 per barrel ; grapes, 2c
to is per lb.
