At present there does not appear to be much talk on the cinestion, yet he. lieve people are doing more thinking. During the past two weeks there have been several lectures delivered tsjihrtiuldgbc°eruttain thyehavteowgonosdhiipm, prweshsiiochn upon the rate -payers. Mr A. T, Coop- er, of Clinton, gave three most excel- lent temperance addresses on the Oth inst at Goshen Blake and Drysdale; Mr Spence, of Toronto, delivered an excellent address on Local Option in Blake on the 7tb, while Rev Mr Urqu- hart, of Kippen, delivered a masterly, enthusiastie and convincing address at Drysdale on the llth. These with several other address by Rev Messrs Brown, Davidson and Somers at Hill's Green, 13rucetield, Kippen Sze, are gradually, but surely convincing the ratepayers of their duty on the 7th of gawneihaarty he extiquor men are doing in the line of opposition I cannot sit5, but no doubt tbey will .do their work quietly as on other occasions. - That the bar -room is -a public nuis- ance and dangerous snare to the youth of our township, no reasonable man can deny, but, that it is legally allowed every one must admit. Nevertheless it is the wise duty of every ratepayer to weigh the matter in its influence and act accordingly with his franchise on the 71h of January.
