SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.
The anniversary services in connec-
tion with Cole's Church. will take
place next Sunday. Dec. 80th, preach-
ing at 2.30 and 7 p. m. Rev. Mr. Bea-
ton is expected to preach at both
services. The following Monday even-
ing a Pie Social will be given by. the
young people, 'a good' program re in
preparation, which will be contribut-
ed by local and ohtside talent. a small
admission fee will be taken at the
door. Everybody welcotne.

old home at Madoc to spend Christ-
mas. The nomination proceedings on
Monday are expected to be interest-
ing. 'Miss Jean Mair, daughter of Mr
T. K. Mair, has been engaged for
Babylon line school, Stanley for next
year. Miss Lithe Green gave a party
to her intimate friends on Prrhay
evening last in honor of her birth -day;
the young people enjoyed a delightful
time at the expense of Mr and Mrs
Green's genial hospitality. Mr -and
Mrs H. p. Cameron. of Arthur, spent
Xmas at MrsCameron's old' home,
Woodland Farm, Goderich tevenship,
Mr and Mrs J. J. Washington and

merhill on Christmas Day, on the oc-
casion of tin:marriage of Mr Joseph
Henry Watkina to Miss Frances
Rosena Wright. The ceremony was

the home of the bride's sister, .Mrs

CHRISTMAS 'TREE, -The Christmas
Tree Entertainment on Monday even-
ing. at Turners, was largely attended
by young and old and a very enjoy-
able evening was spent.. The proceeds
amounted somewhere in the neighbor-
hood of $15.

spent the surruner with his brother,
Mr E. Crich in Saslettchewan is home

Miss Ella Johns is spending the Xmas
holidays at her home here. The choir
of Turner's .Church were very hospit-
ably entertained on Thursday evening

Street parsonage.- M. F. Taylor has
moved his grinding out to Mr Joseph
Crich,,where he will grind for farmers
one day in the week. Mr Ed Bowers,
of Brantford, paid a few days visit to

shows total receipts to have been

The Music furnished by Miss Edna, Mc-

was acceptably -received. The lecture
on "Tire power of' the, Tongue!' was
well given. well received,. 'and, we feel
safe in• seying, hi to be iecoonmended
for almost any audience. The receipts
were not up, to the usual, though the
house•wae comfortably filled, the total
intake being about $85, • ,
