ing in the neighborhood of $200 for it.
A year ago he offeeed it for sale at

at $1500, butt could not get a purchaser.
On Monday he got an offer of $3,0004
by telegraph, and accepted it.
SALE. -One of the largest crowds
ever seen at a sale gathered at the
farm of Mr, Oliver Mills. Huron road,
on Monday. The sale had been partic.
Warty well advertised, which will ac-
count, in part for the crowd. Stock
' went at fairly geed prices, a pair of
• ' yearling colts going for 8200. The aue-
tioneer, Mr. Purvis, of Holyrood, was
a personal friend of Mr. Mills, and this
was his firstappearance in this locality,

tainment oft Wednesday evening,

scholars and teachers will repair to the
basement fora tea; agood time is ex-
pected. Tex -paying is in order now;

Bayfield
NotEs.-Mr T. J. Marks lost a, Yalu
able horse last week, its mate having,
died about one month prior to this
leaving Mr Marks to buy another span
to work his farm. The breaking of a
belt in Mr Thomsons flour mill caused
one days delay, but no one was hurt
by the accident, and the mill is now
doing al old time business in the flour
trade, The Yacht U. O., which was
bound from Port Dover to Georgian
Bay was storinstayed hoe, and had to
be hauld out of the water owing to ice
forming on the river. Mr Mustard.
has closed down his mill for a short
time and his gang is now working in
the Marshall woods.
