In the presence of the largest and -moste,nthusiastie-nntendance non Ibsen Olitittro lacrosse team WOO a victory such as even the most sanguine gild not expect, when they met the Wing - ham "mvineibles" on the local grounds on Prater last. The game started at 0.24, and in two minutes Ritchison ecored the first goal for Clinton, This put the crowd on pins, but the trick Was repeated by the sarne player in one minute, then again in half a min- ute; Galbraith quickly followed, which was the final during that period. The second quarter started with a rush, and in the lapse of a very few minutes Ritchison scored the ilfth and last goal. When play was resumed at half-time it was evulents at •once•that Vaughan] was 'petting forth extra zeal. The checking was Very severe on both teams. The combination work of the visiting aggregation appeared to be somewhat superior, but they were weak at the points where the home team happened to be strong, Conse- quently they failed to score, even though they had numerous excellent opportunities. When the Winghaue boys first ap- peared on the grounds, very few people believed Clinton would be victorious.
