A number of drovers were on the To- ronto markets this week with cattle which they had bought a month ago, when prospects seemed rather bright- er than they do now. In ome cases these drovers say they aiaid over five cents for cattle that they cannot get beyond 84.80 for to -day. There is little doubt, too, that the statements made are substantially correct, and that drovers have lost on the cattle they bought in advance for May delivery. Just now the Toronto market is dull, it being difficult to get up to $5,16 even for the very finest o-fferings.
