time age; that death invaded the home of
Mr. James Landsborough, and carried off
one of his daughters; -who was just bud --
ding. into Womanhood; and. again_ he has
entered. the happy boine circle and sad-
dened the ,hearts of all by• snatching away
another victim, in the person of Alis
Marion, fifth daughter •of Mr, Lands -
borough, at the early age of 15 years.
Abent-four-years-ago-deceased-was-tro
bled, with a large abscess in the bead,
and the beg medieal assistance being
called in, pronounced her :case incurable.
She did recover, however, 'very. Tana to
their surprise, but .was, thereafter, de-
prived of the power of hearing. • The logs.
of -this faculty .wee u very severe. trial to
her, as, being it splendia musician, it 'Was
particularly Painful to her to witness in-
strumental playing without being, able to
enjoy the pleasore arising therefrom. Up
to.within a week ago she enjoyed com-
paratively. good health; when the old.

all' efforts to give her relief were uneucespe
ful. She Suffered intense pain .during her
illness, but bore it With a calm resigna-
tion that shosied trust•in a divine poWer.
Shortly before her death, being unable to
speak, she. wrets on it slate, expressing

and pasSed away, confident of aneternal
residence with him. Her remains were .
