A curious accident occurred toa mare owned by Mr. John Porter, Godorieb township, on Wednesday evening last.' A very sad affair occurred near Wingham last week. On Friday Mr. -T. McCreight, sr., the oldest mill in this county, died at his residence, in the township of Tarp - berry, at the advanced age of 104 years. He was born in Ireland in 1780, and up to a year or two of his death was a strong, healthy man, and was one of the oldest settlers in the township.. After his spirit bad taken its flight, his two sons, John and Thos., left with the intention' of corn- ing to Wingham to make arrangements for their father's funeral. Shortly after they had started, the horses ran away, throwing both occupants out of the waggon. John, who was 70 years of age, was pitched upon a stick of wood, • breaking his- nose and 9Priously injuring him' about the head and 'body, and Thomas received severe injuries about the bank. Assistance was soon at hand and they were conveyed home. John Henri until Satnrday afternoon, when he died from the effect of the injuries he had received. It is probable that hia brother will cover.
