Mr. W. II. Ford. of Vancouver, , B.C.,
is on an extended visit to his broth-
er, Mr., A. Ford,' and other rela-
tives and friends. Mr. Ford has
been. a resident of the Coast pro-

come thoroughly imbued by the
spirit prevailing in the Sunset pro-
vince. Always genial, it is an un-
failing pleasare to meet hint.
Mr. T..4. Good, Benniiller, was in town
Monday.. He was one •of the vic-
tims of the, hail storm tate in July,
which beginning about 7.ion churelt,
Colborne, swept east a. mile wide
until beyond' Loadesboro. It made
such a clean sweep of the Crop,- even
to the potatoes, that the only
portion saved was that which was
then in the barns. The result will
be no rehanue for the farmers in the
hail belt this season ; in short they -
will have to buy rather than sell.
Even their stockero they have in
Srlveral 'Instances allowed to go so
their season's labor has been prac-
tically lost to them. Mr. 'Good,
however, and he is a good represen-
tative of the sufferers, takes the re-
verse philosaphically and looks to
the future with perfect eonfidence.
