up to Goderich yesterday to 'in-
terview the County Council in the
interests of the Associagon.
Mr. Jas. Scott went to Carleton
Plaice on Saturday, 'being called hith-
er by the death of a niece, Mrs. R.
W. Hudson. He will also vtisit his
•brother, Rev. Mr. Scott, who so
• unfortunately lost his fine church
in the recent fire there.

been able to resume,ibuginess after
6. a severe attack of grippe lasting
.a fortnight. Time does lag
when one 'has been bowled over by,
grippe and no doubt* the weeks
seemed like at least months to the

this month on an extended visit to
friends in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
They. leave Sarnia by the N.N. Co's

Messrs. Erne and Charlie Twitchell
left on Tuesday for the west and
if the prospects look good in their
respective lines of business' they will
probably locate. As a photograph-
er Erne is indeed hard to beat
while Charlie is an adept in sell-
ing up-to-date footwear.
Mr. Albert Seeley on Friday • last
took a County council comanittee to
Exeter and back. The roads were
in a decidedly unfavorable condi-
tion for autoing but Albert is an
expert driver and made as . quick
a trip as the regulation a allow.

Irwin, Reeves Lamont and Shearer
and Clerk Lane,.
Rev. Father McMenamin of Luean
was in town 'en Friday last and
called upon several old friends, To
those who know this genial and
wholesouled man of 'God it is not
necessary to say thathis visit
though brief game much pleasure to
those who had thus an opportunity
of again meeting him. It is ac-
tually eight years •• since he was itt
charge of the Clinton parish.
Mr. T. J. Elliott, formerly of the
London Road, was in town on
Tuesday and yesterday leftl for Al-
berta to locate upon the half See -
thin which he some time ago secur
ed. The place is lifty-five miles
' from Stettler but "Jack" expects
-that the district will SOOI1 be all
settled upon ,so that a school and
other modern advantages, may be
obtained. In the meantime his fam-
ily will remain in Brumfield.

ston is a delegate of the Prosbyter-
ian Church in his State to the great
Laymen's Missionary Congress to be
held in Edinburgh soon. After at-

fifty years, having taken up his
present farm when first settling here,

ried boquets of pink and white car-
nations and ferns. The groom wan
supported by Mr. Derwin, Carter and
Mr, •Wm.' Tamblyn of Londesboro.
The bride received many . handsome
and costly gifts; including w pearl
pendant, the gift of the groom. The
bridesmaids, pianist, and groomsmen
received broaches and tie pin, •also
gifts of the groom.
During the ,signing of the register
Miss Maude Hiles, 'Kincardine, • sang
"Oh Promisse Me" after which • the
guests, numbering about one hundred,
were served to a dainty dejeuner,
The bride, who was given away by
her father, was dressed in a gown
of Messiline silk and carried a shower
bequet of cream roses. A veil of
white tulle was tastily arranged with
orange blossom.
