pects look bright. Mr. O'Neil has

Miss Mabel Campbell-Uarland was
called to lroxall, Ont., on Thurs-
day fast owing to the sudden death
of her sister-in-law, Mrs. 'John
Campbell, who died atter. a few
hours illness on the first anniver-
• sary of her marriage, aged only
twenty-ts,vo years and a few months.
Besides her sorrowing husband and
infant son, deceased leaves to
mourn her early demise, her par-
ents, three sisters and one brother.
Mr. Campbell spent his childhood
• days in Clinton, and has visited
his sister here at intervals and
will be remembered by a number of
our citizens, who will sympathize
with him in his sad bereavement.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben, Cole left Atondey
morning for Ypsilanti, Mich., where
they, will make their home in future.
They were residents of Clinton .for
twenty years and • leave behind
many warm friends who were sorry
to see them go but wish them a
happy and prosperous future, The
latch string will always bang out
for them in Clinton. Mr, -Cole was
born in this district and with the
exception of ten years during which
he farined at Aberdeen, South Da-
kota, his whole life has been
• spent here.

STOLEN nixEs RECOVERED.
• The bikes belonging to Freddie Cut-
ler and Ogle Miller, which were stol-
en on the evening of the: Horse Fair,
were located on Tuesday and Freddie
got back his wheel intact, but the
frame of ogles is at the bottom of
the mill pond at Londesboro where
it was thrown by the boy who stole
it. Ile kept the .wheels to place en
his own bike. The boys who stole
the bicycles • came front English
.1'Haines' and for the ,past couple of
• years have been hired by Hallett
farmers, Chief Wheatley arrested
theni Tuesday afternoon •and the
same evening they were tried before
the. p. ni. and both let go on paying
fines totalling $26.18.

• Mr. Timothy Corbett died at Luck -
now on Monday, at the early age of
fortyabree years and on Wednesday.
the remains• were interred in St.
(lames' cemetery, Seaforth. Mr. Car -
bort was a brother of the • Messrs.
George, Mathew and John Carbert of
this township and of Mrs. J. J,
McCaughey of Morris and Mrs.
Slie•uler of near Stratford. Mr. Car-
bert was engaged in the hotel busi-
ness Teeswater for some years.
Later he conducted a livery in Sea -
forth and about a year ago bought
the hotel at Lucknow from Mr. Frank
McCaughey. lin had been ill for sev-
eral weeks with inflammatory rheu-
matism. • He is survived by his wile
and their three children.

The saw mill is shut down at pre-
sent owing to the sawyer leaving on
Monday. • It is thought it will start
again on Friday with Mr. Clark or
Auburn at the saw.
Mr. Patrick Reynolds, who was ser-
iously taken ill one day last week,
is, his many Wends will be glad to
hear, now. on the fair way to re-
covery.
