the ministerial members of the Pres-
bytery were in attendance. The ser-
vices were in charge of the moderator
of the Presbytery, Rev. F. II, Larkin,
affeafortb, and he was assisted by
Rev. Messrs Fleteher,of Thames Road;
Small,of Blyth ; Sawers,of Brucelield ;
Mann, of Auburn ; Shaw, of Egrnonds-
ville, Dr. McLean. of Goderich.
The.address was given by Mr Small,
of Blyth. Rev, J. Hamiltonsof (lode -
rich, is acting as moderatorto supply
the pulpit in the meantime, and a
meeting of the Presbytery will be held
shortly to deal with the yacancy.

The pulpit of Knox Church was fill-
ed Sunda by Rev. Dr. Stewart, of
Clinton.
At a meeting of the Goderich Board
of Health , on Saturday, Dr. W. F.
Clark was chosen chairman of the
board for the year 1910. Phe special
purpose of the meeting was to deal
with the question of rabies inGoderich.
The head of a dog which bit a man in
•Goderich the other day had been sent
to the provincial laboratory, and pre.-
sumably as the result of the investiga-
tions there.
Dr. Tennant, one of the Government
veterinary inspectors was in town on
Saturday under instructions to inves-
tigate the symptoms of rabies here.
Dr. Tennant advised that all dogs be
.confined or chained up for a time, and
that the board issue a proclamation in
accordance with this. .A resolution
was accordingly passed that all dogs
be confined or tied up for the period of

Seaforth
Mrs. &. E. Colson was the hostess of
a delightful tea on Tuesday afternoon.
Seeding is well under way. A few
more fine days and the majority of the
fe.rrs will be through.
Andrew Stewart and James Scott
left this week oda business trip to the
West.
Seaforth now has two moving pic-
ture theatres, the second one being
opened this week by a gentleman from
Goderich.
Dr. MacKay has the honor of poss-
essing the first motor bicycle in town,
he having purchased on this week
from j. F. Daly. •
Hoses still command a good price

N. T. Fowler, who has been in the
etnploy of the Robt. Bell Engine Com-
pany for some years, intends leaving
shortly for the 'West to take up. !ann.
Mr. Fowler was a prominent Odd -
fellow, and on Wednesday evening
the members of the lodge presented
him with a handsome pipe as•a token
of their appreciation of his services.

of her sister, Mrs. Thos. Pollard.
Geo, and Mrs. Riley and children
spent a day with their daughter, Mrs,
Chas. Hoggert, of Tuckersmith one
day laet week.
The Ball that was held in the Forr-
esters Hall on Tuesday evening was a
eecided success. .Much credit is due
the committee that had charge of the
