The Orange Young Britons, of Blue-
vale, intend holding a tea -meeting on
the 10th prox.. More next week.
The firm of Elliott Ar Talbot has
dissolved patitership, Mr. Elliott con-
tinuing the lousiness.
O. Y. B.—The annual meetingof the
Orange Young Britons for North
Huron will be held in the Orange
Hall, Wingham, on Tuesday, • ebru-
ary 8th.
A house of ill -fame on Minnie street,
near the railway bridge, was raided on
Monday night by the "chief." The
new Mayor unposed a "solid''' fine, or
of to the "county cage."
We have been blessed with rather
plentiful downfalls of "the beautiful,"
of which poets rave. The winter, so
far, has been one of the severest for
years, reminding one of the Lower
Canadian winters.
The concert to be given in the Town
hall on Friday, Feb. 4th, in and of St.
Paul's Church, promises to be one of
those, treats for which the ladies of
that congregation are noted. 'On •the
programme we notice the names of
Mrs. Watson, Mrs. Dr. Hutchinson,
_Hisses Scott, Dayton and Foster, and
Messrs. Watson and Joslin. The
names are a sufficient guarantee •of its
Rn ecess.

A buffalo robe belonging to .11r.l.•,rregg and two horse blaukets belong-
ing to Mr. Jas. Copeland are among
the articles recently stolen from vehi-
cles un'=atched in this village, while
sleigh -balls continue to disappear in
large numbers. Corrie will soon lose
its reputation for morality if these,
thefts are permitted to oceuur se fre-
quently.
When Mr. Jos., Cunningham moved
.unto the Ferguson farm, just south of
this village he little thought that he
•was settling down close beside the home
of a brother .whom he had not seen for
years and whose wbereabotits he had
completely lost so that he expected
never to see hien again. On being
asked it he had any relatives in -this
section, his reply was that he once had
a brother living at Mitchell, but had
lost track of hits for yearn. Further.
inpuiry, however, brought out the
fact that Mr. Robert Cuneingham,•
who runs the brickyard on the 6th
con.; about 2a miles east of here was
the "long -lost brother," and the two
were not long in electing and having a
long, happy talk over by-gones and re-
counting their histories during the
years of separation. Mr, C. —the new
comer—is now more -than ever pleased
that his lot is to be . cast in Howick,
where not only the land but -the society
is of tho best in Ontario.
