O itement Is .Mad Th That Post Mottem In Chemony. Park Case Revealed Mutilation of Dead Young. Man --- Young Joppling Tells One version of Bollard'•s. Fight With His Brp- ther, Fred. Peterboro, Aug, 30. The inquest 1a. to the death of Arthur Roilard of To- ronto, who died on Friday ;as the re - suit of injuries sustained in a fight early in the week, will be held Mon slay evening. A post-mortem was made on Saturday by Drs, Scott. Gray and Morgan. They refuse to make public the result, but it is stated that theyfound mutilation that indicated that the young man was the victim of a most ruffian assault, According to Harry 4oppling, broth, ed of Fred Joppling, who fought Bol• lard, and who is nayv in the hospital in a serious condition from blood poisoning,, the fight followed a joking remark mode by Harry to Pollard, which the latter chose to interpret tis an insult, and he challenged Joppling to fight it 'out, "-ks I am only, 18 years old and a little fellow, and he was a trained athlete, I . said I wouldn't," said Harry Topling, "and Bolland said he •could lick me and my chum„ Billy Merrill. We drove on. That night I went to a dance with my sinter and saw Bollard point to me and heard him say, 'That's the gtiy." I • was. afraid he was going to met me so went down to the village to get one -of the big fellows to come up. "After the dance we, saw Boliard and three others going on ahead and Fred said, `Let's ask him what he meant,by threatening you.". We Ieft the girls behind and Fred approached Bollard and asked: 'Whai Ao you mean by hitting my little brother?' Th -n Bollard turned and struck me. "Then Fred and Bollard took off their coats. Fred struck him only one blow which knocked him into the ditch. Bollard looked in bad shape as he arose. "He then challenged my brother to a wrestling match, and the idea strik- ing both of them as good fun, they shook hands and started in. Bollard saying that he was better in wrestling than boxing. Once Fred threw -Bol- lard and the next time Bollard threw Fred down. At the third throw, Bol- lard was pitchrod into the side of the road where he vomited profusely for several minutes. After that he got up and went home with his friend." Certain it is, that while this ver- sion may be, in a general way, ac- -curate, it does not tell 411 that occur- red, and the brutality • of Bollard's assailants should call for the most rigorous prosecution that the law al. lows.
