PEGSTORY.=_I- VIr.aboseStephens,- hf
the Queen's Hotel, Seaforth; relates - the
following strange story of a valuable pig
which he lost -last July, and which turned
up all right. A trifle over two Weeks
ago he happened to be working about his
stable, When he heard a faint equeak down
below. He at once tore off some boards,
and to his astonishment found his 0 long
lost pig. The animal had actually been
five weeks in the hole without „food or
water. On the day he lost it, about the
middle of July, he had a number of men
hired to board up the underneath' part, of
the stable, and they unintentionally nail-
ed up the pig: When the pig went in -
_it waarolling sn-fat, and -When it earae out,
as Mr, S. remarks, "it would take two such
animals to make a shadow" It was so
thin and weak that they were obliged ,to
prop it up in order to feed it.
