CHURCH ATTENDANCE.
better attended on
Sabbath evenings than in the morning.. This
is patent to those who attend church, and
there i
one reason in particular that is the
cause of numbers not being able to attend
church on Sunday morning, and that is, the
latehours of shopping on Saturday night,
whereby business men and their employees
are detained until a very late hour. A great
deal of the shoppingusually;done' at this
time, could I believe, be done earlierin' the
day, and"instead of business places beingcom•
palled to keep open until near midnight, they
could close intime to allow persons engaged
therein to retire at a more reasonable hour.
Hoping that our• citizens will act neon the

THAT WILL CASE, the Editor of the Clinton, .New Era.
DEAR SIB, -In the'issu'e ob last week there
is an' article headed '''Settling'a will case."
-I-wish-the-plaintiff's in-that-case,-as-we11 as
that portion of the .public, acquainted with
the facts of the matter in : question, and
whose sympathies are: wholly with me in this
conflict for my rights against an ostensibly
religious corporation,which counts its .resour-
cee`by'millions, the fruits of the pence and
shillings contributed by the multitude, to know
the iense.is not settled' yet,- and will not be,
until the Bible. Society' yields to my rights in
-this matter, and the Sooner .they do it,- the
less' need the society. will .have for contribu-
tions wherewith to''pay law costs. • The
money is rightfully, mine, and'I will.contend
for it, until I get it.As we are' probably,
only:on the, skirmishing ground'• of legal'and
perhaps controversial warfare over the mat-
ter, I refrain; from remarks at present.
