day night. Mr. Durrant has had a

pleasing and profitable to these' who

DEATH OF HARRY PORTER, '
• Harry Porter, son of Mrs. Pother,
Rattanbury street, was drowned in
the Maitland river at Gaderich on
Sunday evening, He was in bathing,
got caught by an Undercurrent and
went to his death befOre assistance
could be procured. His brother How-
ard was sitting on the bank at the
time but -before he could get to him
Harry had disappeared. •
Ila.rry was in camp as a member of
the Clinton company and his temente,
together with these of another Young

were given a military funeral 'to the
