During the high water recently Mr.
Janice Heath of Ethel had the mia
fortune to lose his' driver. The water
had risen above tho road, • which had,
become icy, and the home slipped and
before he eould get his feet-, all were
to be found In the deep ditch on the
side of the road. Mr. Heath had pre-
sence of inind enough to undo:stand
the situation, and grabbed the horse's
head and held it above the water,
while with the other hand endeavored
to cut the harness off the horse and
relea.se it. All his efforts, however,
were without &Vail, as he himself had
become almost perished with the cold.
The place is a rather dangerous one,
the roat being narrow and any one
not acquainted with the road is Halite

their home. They are highly respect-

that Mrs, H. B. Beckett, was suffer-

street ehurch. Among the very tasty
things the menu offered was a veal

the entertainment was opened with

tha origin of Easter, as 'e Festival,
qudting the 12th Chapter of Acts 4th
verse, where Easter is firstmentioned
