last the Women's Foreign Missionary
Society held their annual thank•offer-

Urquhart, of Kippen.gave one of the.
best missionary addresses ever given
in our village. The ishurch was filled
with eager listeners ;, he gave a wide
outlook of missions in general, both of
home and foreign lands. He spoke of
the great need of speedily giving. the
Gospel to the World, and also of the.
immense resources of Canada to meet
the crying need ofose who are ask-

been a missionary in the North-West,
so that he knew the needsand require

The election of Mr. Melville 'Martin,
the Liberal candidate in Regina, is .a
source of much -gratification to his
many friends in. Western Ontario. He
is the son of Rev. Mr. Martin, Presby-
terian. minister, - of Exeter. He is a
capable young man, of high ideals and
is likely to make a mark' for himself in
position during the campaign has in-
gloriously failed, and the people have
given a most effective answer thereto.
In Quebec the election results: in a
condition of as.you were. The Liber-
als and Conservatives each gained five
seats. Thenetresult of the polling
really was the changing of a few seats
from one column to the other, and the
defeat of Mr Bergeron, one of Mr Bor-
den's lieutenants from that Province.
The most remarkable reversal of the
verdict of 1904 took place in Nova
Scotia. That Province: returned.- the
solid eighteen" an unbrokendelegation
of Liberals in 1904, while this year the
figures indicate the election of eleven
Liberals and seven Conservatives. The
other Maritime Provinces make up for
this loss by a greatly increased repres-
entation of. Liberals. Prince Edward
Island, which returned three Conserv-
atives and a Liberal in 1901, this time
