t'ATAL 4,00IDENT ; — Saturday
evening last, at 0.15, a number of Ital-
ians, who are laboring on the G. T, It
system in the vicinity of Olintonovere
aboard a hand car, and making for
this town for the night, when 'About
two miles east one Dominick Male in
some manner, came in contact with
the handle Of the car, causing a severe
wound. The unfortunate victim was
brought to the Clinton hospital. but it
was at once conceded thathe could not
recover,and death released hini of pain
about 1.80 p.m. Monday. An inquest
was considered unnecessary, but a pest
re:torture: was held * in, the Morgue of
Walker & Ross, Tile remains were en,
• trained•Tuesday. Deceased, who was
88 years of age, has. a wife and family -
in Italy. .
DEATH OF W. OUDIVICRE — We
are sorry to record . the death of Mr
William (apdmore, , of 'Exeter, which
occurred oh Saturday morning last.
Deceased had not been in good.health
•for sometime, and expected to submit
to an operation this week, in the hope
that it would prolong his life. For a
number of years he resided at Rippe)]. •
and engaged extensively in the export
'of cattle and hey,principalty the latter
which he . bought all over western
Ontario,•and only removed* to .Exeter
a short time ago. He was a man of
enterprise and integrity, man - of his
mord,and enjoyed both the confidence
•of the farmers and the commercial
public as well. He *as a staunch and
consistent Methodist, . Iii politics a
Conservative. Hie wife and several
• children survive him. He was a
brother -bylaw to Mr George.Davis,

Possibly the.inest entertaining enter-
tainment ever attempted in' Clinton,
was the one of the above title, which
took place Friday evening last. The
characters throughout the ,entire'pro-
gramme were . ably handled by local
talent, under the direction of - Miss
Luella Z Drake, who has proven her,
self an adept in her line,awl has paved
the way to .a kindly reception should
.she decide to return to Clinton at any
future time. The entertainment
throughout was of a mirthful tendency,
and of tw

the audience laugh, we might make
mention of Messrs Walter Smith, R.
Downs, Bert Hill, and Dr. Axon, also
of Miss Gertie Chant, Mrs Bert Hill,
• Miss Mabel Oluff, and Miss Deverall.

which was rendered in a most pleasing
manner. The hall was crowded, and

-event that has already been announced
•the marriage of ,'Vfiss 111 Turner, of
Olintoin—On Saturday, September 19,
a quiet wedding took place at the
residence of Cyrus Turner, Esq.,(Well-
wood, Man.„) the brother of the bride
• when Miss Evelyn Turner was united
in marriage to David Wood, Esq., of
Fort Walsh, Coulee, Sask., only the
immediate relatives ef the bride being

Turner's residence. The • Ceremony
which took place under the trees witla

beautiful gown of point desprit over
silk, with 'sleeves and yoke of heavy
guipure lace, finished with aPpique
trimming and cream satin. The brides
maid, Miss Eolith Turner, was be
conaingly dressed in a gown of cream
voile over silk with lace. yoke,trinuned
with insertion; Both bricle and bridee.

flowers. The groom was supported
by Mr Oswold Tureen After the cere-
mony the wedding party returned to
the house and sat down to a dainty
luncheon, the table being tastefully
decorated with mild owers and
autumn leaver. The bride's travelling
chase was of brown cloth with hat to
match. During the afternoon the
bride and groom left for Carberry,
where they took the 0 P:R train for
the West,
