Tait BIttnena-Warden McLean and
Road Contmiesioner Patterson were
her on Monday, inspecting the new
bridge...and Wis are informed that they
decided it should be repaired, and
Wade ready for traffic. A good many
are of the opinion that it would be bet-
ter in the end to pull the whole struc-
ture down and rebuild it afresh, The
South pier has shifted about eight
inches, es badly cracked on. one aide,
While a good deal of work will have to
be put an the centre pier, If pulled
down,the superstructure could be used
for bridges elsewhere, and a wider one
.used here, one of the great objections
to the present bridge being its narrow -
nests It is lucky that the old bridge
can still be used.
