The sad news of .the sudden death of
)lrs. Mary Munro, wife of Mr. Robert -
McDonald, of Usborne,came as a shock
to her many frieeds on Saturday last,
The deceased had been in her usual,
health up to within a few hours of ber
demise, when ehe was stricken down,
with a severe attack of paralysis and, I
without regaining consciousness, suc
cumbed to its deadly effects.

Albert Fleming of Winghern mourns
the death of her brother, Mr W. J.
Irwin, of Bruce, which °comae, on
Thursday last as the result of a runa-
way. Deceased was returning 'borne
from Lucknova when he was thrown
from his buggy. It was thought his
neck was broken by the. fall, as he
died immediately.
DitaTre oa Met, Spawns -Mr, A. E.
Simmons, who -Was reported ill in last
week's issue, passed away on Thursday
July 30th.. It is thought that he con-
tracted the illness by drinking itnpure
waters He was taken ill witn symp-
toms of typhoid, which in a few days
ended his earthly -career. Deceased
had been a resident qf Winghana for
thirty years or more, except for a
short time thathe resided in London.
The deepest sympathy of the com1111111-
ity goes out to Mrs. Simmons, who
nas had no small share of trouble, and
is now left with a family of little ones
to care for, One omfort however re

year. The GoclericlaStar announced in
a news item in its issue of Juar 17 that
the lists were first posted up on the 10th
of July,- The next week an advertise-
ment appeared in the Star, as author-
ized by law, over the clerk's signature,
giving the date of first pasting aup as`
the 17th of Jule:. The week fallowing,
the 31st, the advertisement tn the Star
had the date changed to the 10th of
July. The discrepancy of dates being
called to the attention of the judge, he
has decided that the date for receiving
appeals will be Aug. 17th, which iss we
understand, accepted by both parties
