NARROW ESCAPE - One day last
week Mr Macdonald, who had been
working for Mr J R Holmes, was up-
stairs in the house, with a companion.
An old revolver lay on the table, and
it was supposed that it was empty.
The companion picked it up,and snap-
ped, the triggerithere being A ball
cartridge in one c anther, which Was
exploded. The bullet struck Macdon-
ald in the breasfahut glanced and came
out .of his coat. Re had a narrOW es-
