IDEamas -The death took "place at
his home on Friday, of, Mr, Andrew
Calder, who has been a patient suffer-
er for many years from a diseased limb;
some time ago at his own request, the
limb was amputated, the operation be-
ing successful,, but his recuperative
powers were apparently too far spent.
- Miss Henrietta Smith died atthe
family residence, Seaforth, Friday af-
ternoon. This death has caused deep
regret, owing to the fact that the de-
ceased had real!" given up her life to
wait upon an Invalid sister, and the
_strain had been too. much for her.
' WiannEn-A quiet but pretty wed•
ding took place on Friday morning,
when Miss Ruby Baker, eldest daugh-
ter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Baker was
united in holy wedlock to Mr Lewis
Crowell, also of Seaforth. The cere-
mony% was performed by Rey Neil
Shaw, of Egmontlyille, at the aome of
the bride's parents.. The young couple
' left by the 8 o'clock train for a short
honeymoon to points east, after which
they will take up their residence in
Seaforth. • - • '
FIRE -A fire occurred. on Friday
night by Which the storeheuse of Mr
John R Goverilock, containg some 40
tons of hay, was teta1l3r destroyed. A
car Med with hay was standing close
by, and it was completely destroyed.
-This-hay avaalso_the property , of Mr
. Govenleck, and as there was no insur-
ance it was entirely, lost. The grain
elevator of Mr Beattie, near by, also
took fire, but was put out before much
damage was done. It is believed that
both IN ere incendiary ; as•the boilers of
