Our farmers should back up the mil-

the market for Ontario blended flours,
and thus educate the whole Canadian
people won° the merits of Ontario
wheat. The farmer is the one most in-
terestedin this work because he will
be most benefitted by an increase in
the price of his wheat. Yet he is the
one who seems to be doing the least to
bring about the desired end.
Wpen the slump pains in Ontario
wheat our millers began to experiment
with the ;redoes; varieties of Canadi-
an grains, They spent thousands uf
dollars trying to find some, emiabinat-
ion in which Ontario wheat ,wouldhe
the most. important part.; It took
years of careful. and costlyresearch to
perfect the blended flouts. But the re-
sults justified the trouble and expense.
Blended flours which contain Ont-
ario wheat and a little Western wheat
are better for bread .and better for
pastry than any ether. What our
farmers should do-*•,-;- and must do if
higher prices for wheat are to , be ob-
tained is to drop 'Western patent
flours and use blended flours instead.
If every farmer in Ontario Would buy
blenaed flours therwould • be
AripratOnS demand for these blended
flours and a corresponding demand -foe
Ontario wheat. Then the price of
Ontario wheat would go where it be.
ongs, and where it would pay a hand-
some profit to the farmer.
