Hallahan to cut a rug for HC Victim Services
Volunteering their time
Paul Hallahan of Orr Insurance, right, is a late addition to this year's
Huron County Victim Services' annual Dancing with the Stars
fundraiser. Hallahan will be dancing alongside an expert in the field,
Sam Smith of Wroxeter, a teacher at Clinton's Dance Techniques.

Paul Hallahan of Blyth's On Insurance
office is trading in his office attire for
something a little flashier to take part in
the Huron County Victim Services'
Dancing with the Stars Fundraiser on Oct.
29.
Hallahan said he was a later addition to
the roster after some upheaval left some
spots open for the event which will be held
at the Knights of Columbus Centre in
Goderich.
Word came through Brussels' Sholdice
Insurance office that dancers were needed
and he said, why not.
"I have zero background in dancing," he
said in an interview with The Citizen. "It
sounded like fun though, and it made
Doug Sholdice [from Brussels] happy
because he wasn't going to have to do it"
While dancers usually have two-thirds
of a year to prepare, the events that led to
Hallahan joining transpired in the summer,
leaving him only a few months to prepare
for the event. He is dancing with Sam
Smith of Wroxeter, who teaches dance at
Dance Techniques in Clinton.

"We lost our keys at a hockey game out of
town, including our expensive -to -replace

did its job when our keys were returned to us
last week by courier, much to our relief."

Wingham at the Columbus
Centre," he said. "We're doing
two dances, and may repeat one
if we end up in the final."
Due to even more upheaval in
the roster, Hallahan didn't even
meet Smith until August, two
months before he was set to
dance for the first time.
"We've been practising one to
two times a week for an hour to
an hour and a half up until now,"
he said. "This week, we'll be
putting in some more practice
sessions to get ready for the main
event."
While he couldn't say what the
dances were, Hallahan promised
the routines would be exciting
and memorable.
Hallahan said it was tough to
schedule training because of the
busy schedules both he and
Smith have, but felt it was
worthwhile because of the good
work that Huron County Victim
Services does.
"I'm familiar with the group,"
he said. "I've never been a part of
this fundraiser, but I know what
they do and I'm looking forward
to being a part of it"
