Happiness is singing in the choir!
Singing is good for the body and
the soul, and singing in a community
choir is all about individuals coming
together for the sheer joy of making
beautiful music.
So treat yourself and join the
Blyth Festival Singers as they begin
a wonderful 36th season of making
music in Huron County!
Whether you are a first-time
participant or a seasoned singer,
there is a place for every voice in our
choir. And students get a special

The Blyth Festival Singers is a
welcoming, non -auditioned
community choir which has been
going strong since 1980. For 2016-
17, Director Sharon Poelstra has
planned a fun and musically -
rewarding season. The season starts
in fine form by working on Handel's
"Messiah" for joint performances
with the Stratford Concert Choir.
April's "Around the World in Song"
will celebrate Canada's 150th
birthday and other great
international music. The group's
ever -popular dinner cabaret and
auction "Huron Shores and Beyond"
will pay tribute to music from this
area that we call home, and will host

willing to help, while at the same
time curious about the project.
In addition to having a positive
working relationship with the people
of the community, the filmmakers
say that the Huron County landscape
has proven to be breathtaking.
Armour -Ostroff says that when
she has faced stressful situations
over the course of production, she
finds that stress will simply melt
away as soon as she steps outside
and takes in the farm landscapes
surrounding their locations.
Similarly, Perez Torres says he has
been amazed by the stars of the
Huron County night when he finds
himself awake in the middle of the
night and out for a walk around the
Currie Line property.
When production wraps on Sept.
14, the film will enter post-
production with hopes of a potential

February world premiere, says Perez
Torres. On that timeline, the
filmmakers then hope to enter the
film into various festivals all over
the world ahead of the Toronto
International Film Festival, which
begins next September.
Along the way, however, there are
plans for a special Blyth screening to
ensure that local film and theatre
fans are among the first to see the
film.
