friends stopped by to wish her well
and happy birthday. They all enjoyed
a short visit and refreshments,
including birthday cake. Family and
friends came from far and wide
including Woodstock, Owen Sound,
Elora, Brussels, Seaforth and Walton
areas.
Our condolences are sent to the
many members of the Machan
family on the passing of Ken
Machan. He will be missed by his
parents Lloyd and Marion and the
extended Machan family. Our
sympathies to all.
The Walton area has said goodbye
to Dave and Candace Jacklin, Lucas
and Ryan who have moved from
Moncrieff Line to Belgrave. We
hope they are happy in their new
home!
We congratulate Ryan Jacklin on
his great performance at the Royal
Canadian Legion National Track and
Field meet held in Sainte -Therese,
Quebec last week. He participated in
javelin, discus and shot put and
did very well. He is awaiting
word on the result of his javelin
throw becoming the new
record for the province. Well
done Ryan! And good luck in
your future track and field
endeavours.
Happy belated birthday to Ron
Lee who has celebrated his 90th
birthday recently. The family
gathered at the home of Ron and
Joan and enjoyed a potluck meal
and birthday cake. Happy birthday
Ron!
Jim, Leona, Robert, Bruce and
Claudette Armstrong recently
returned from spending two weeks
at the Air Venture Flying Convention
in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This is the
world's largest fly -in with
approximately 563,000 people
attending this year and over 10,000
aircraft. The family volunteered in
the showplane camping area, which
they have been doing for almost 30
years.
At the Canadian Council
breakfast, Jim and the family were
presented with an award for their
volunteering spirit, coming to and
helping at the fly -in since the 1960s.
Congratulations to the Armstrong
family for their strong volunteering
spirit, which all of Brussels has
recognized for years!
