Melville Guild looks ahead to Brussels Fall Fair Melville Presbyterian Church Guild and Women's Missionary Society met in the church parlour on June 21. The meeting opened with everyone repeating the WMS Purpose followed by Alice Marks leading in a gardener's prayer. John 15: 1-8 was read in unison followed by the singing of "For the Beauty of the Earth." In keeping with the springtime theme, Margaret Siertsema spoke on "Growing Ground". "All Things Bright and Beautiful" was sung followed by the benediction. Alice Marks presided over the business part of the meeting. A special welcome was given to Margaret Work. Alice gave the treasurer's report and Leona Armstrong gave the WMS report. The springtime supper and the Mission Sunday service were discussed. The roll call was answered by telling what you had planned for the summer. Dona Knight and Alice Marks will put a display in the Brussels fall Fair on the theme, "Blue Jeans and Country Dreams". Melville WMS have been invited to attend the Molesworth Church WMS in September. Elaine Armstrong gave a detailed account of general assembly which she attended at York University in Toronto.
