The Citizen Ar -or otral.uron MUNICIPAL COUNCILLOR MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL HURON - WEST WARD VACANCY The Corporation of the Municipality of Central Huron is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on Municipal Council. The council position represents the West Ward (formerly the Township of Goderich). The successful applicant will fulfill the remaining term of office until November 30, 2018. Qualifications: The applicant must be: • a resident of the municipality or a non-resident owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such a non-resident owner or tenant; • a Canadian citizen • at least 18 years old; and • not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office. Interested parties must complete a Council Vacancy Application form and Declaration of Qualifications (available at the municipal office or website) and submit a one page statement (no resumes please) expressing: 1. Your interest in sitting on council; 2. Outlining any prior community and/or council involvement; and 3. Familiarity with municipal government and local issues. Candidates will be required to attend a Special Council meeting to be held on Monday April 25, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. Submitted applications will be subject to review and consideration at this public meeting of Council.
