Arena ice removal study suggested

what this request is"
Vodden said his request was for all
three arenas in the municipality and
each arena would have a separate
figure for how much could be saved
if funding an ice surface were not
part of the equation.
"We have to consider the revenue
factor as well," he said. "I'm not
making any suggestion on closing
one, two or three arenas. I'm asking
about what we could save by not
providing ice in the arena."
Director of Recreation and
Facilities Pat Newson said the
biggest challenge with the request,
should it be approved by a motion at
the next council meeting, is that the
township doesn't operate the
Belgrave Community Centre.
"It's leased to another board," she
said. "We have no control over their
operations. It would be a separate
request to their board to provide
their figures. We can only
provide figures for Wingham and
Blyth"
Chief Administrative Officer
Sharon Chambers suggested council
not debate the idea because of the
amount of research necessary. She
said if council gives direction on
Vodden's suggestion at the next
meeting, staff would then begin that
research.
