A partnership between a number of Blyth churches and Huron Chapel in Auburn was in full
force on Sunday night for the group's annual Walk Through Holy Week event. Members of the
joint congregation walk from church to church every year on Palm Sunday for a different
sermon, musical performance or skit, following the story of Easter. This year, Huron Chapel
was the event's final stop, which culminated in a musical performance from Pastor Mark

help clean up the Brussels pool and
soccer and baseball fields before
they're ready to be used for the

Community members are asked to
meet at the pool at 5:30 p.m. that

rake. A free barbecue will follow the
clean-up, which the board hopes to
make an annual event.

HEAT applauds new
Health Unit survey
A number of residents concerned
with potential adverse health effects
associated with wind turbines spoke
to Huron East Council last week and
came equipped with a handful of
requests.
The group, called Citizens
Concerned about Health Impacts,
pointed to a number of recent
developments in their years -long
fight.
First, said Jeanne Melady, the
concerns of a number of residents in
Huron County living adjacent to
wind turbines, not just in Huron
East, have been recognized by the
Huron County Health Unit.
The Health Unit, Melady told
councillors, will be further
investigating alleged adverse health
effects by way of a survey. The
process, however, will take a number
of years to properly study.
In the meantime, however, a report
is being prepared by the Huron
County Board of Health on the
concerns of area residents that will
soon be available, she said. That
issue will be dealt with once again
by the Board of Health in early
April.
Melady told council that there are
now 31 families in Huron County on
record as having suffered negative
health effects associated with wind
turbines. While those complaints
have been made in writing, she said,
many others have been made
verbally.
With the issue now on the Health
Unit's radar, Melady said, it's
important to wait and see if the
results of the survey turn up
anything.
One of the group's requests of
council was that council pass a
motion supporting the decision of
Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr.
Janice Owen to further investigate
possible health problems.
Melady told council that in
