(Denny Scott photo) Henry and Marilyn van Heesch, owners of Eurohome Appliances, with locations in Belgrave and the Wingham area, have pledged to donate $25,000 to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation's Our Hospital, Our Future campaign over the next five years. On March 8, campaign chair Mark Foxton and campaign team leader Jenny Hogervorst met the van Heesch family at their new showroom on Amberley Road near Wingham to accept the donation. With the showroom located in Morris-Turnberry and the Euro -Parts warehouse in Belgrave located in North Huron, Eurohome Kitchens and Appliances is a neighbour to the Wingham and District Hospital twice over. As such, owner Henry van Heesch said, "It is important to us to support the ongoing success of the hospital that serves our family, employees and clients.” The van Heeschs were among the early donors to the campaign. Campaign team leader Jenny Hogervorst said she is "grateful to have such a community -minded business make its home in Wingham and lead the way in this campaign" The Our Hospital, Our Future campaign is striving to raise $4 million for the major redevelopment of the Wingham and District Hospital. The project will see the expansion of six hospital departments including the only chemotherapy clinic in Huron and Bruce Counties, the creation of new rehabilitation space, the replacement of digital imaging equipment and the transformation of the former Wingham Public School into a one- stop -shop community healthcare campus. All gifts to the Our Hospital, Our Future campaign can be pledged over a period of up to five years. The next shoot party will be Friday, April 8 at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. CALL FOR NOMINATIONS Hospital boards are composed of a group of talented, engaged members of our communities who have an interest in rural healthcare and expertise in one or more of quality, communications, marketing, finance, governance, law, health policy, strategic planning or recruitment. The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance is calling for nominations of individuals who are interested in serving as a Director on the Board. Directors are elected for a two year term and subject to a bylaw change, will serve as a director of the Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital. Elected Directors must have a strong interest in health care services and meet eligibility criteria as defined in the corporations' bylaws. If you would like to be part of a volunteer Board that will help forge the future of acute rural health care in our communities please forward an expression of interest including background information regarding your skills and experience to C.E.O./Board Secretary, Karl Ellis, up to May 11, 2016. The nominating committee will consider all submissions along with the intentions of current directors who are eligible for re-election. Elections will be held at the Annual Meeting on June 8, 2016.
