OMHA, WOAA placement on the line for some teams Continued from page 8 Feb. 27 in Clinton at 5 p.m. The Novice Rep squad has notched three wins in its playoffs, besting Seaforth on Feb. 13 and Ripley on Feb. 20 1-0 and beating Zurich 4-1 on Feb. 21. The team next plays against Zurich on Feb. 27 in Blyth at 8:30 a.m. The Atom Rep team has struggled in its post -season thus far, posting five losses. The team did best Saugeen Shores on Feb. 6. The team's final games are scheduled for Feb. 25 against BCH in Clinton at 7 p.m. and Feb. 28 against the Saugeen Shores Storm in Saugeen Shores. The Atom LL Black squad hasn't been able to earn a win in its post - season, though it started off with a tie against Central Perth on Feb. 19. The team then lost to Central Perth on Feb. 20 and lost to the BCH Ice Dogs 1 team on Feb. 21. The team's next match is Feb. 25 against the Mitchell Meteors in Mitchell at 7 p.m. Following that, the squad takes on the BCH Ice Dogs 2 team in Blyth on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. The Atom LL Burgundy team has earned a 3-0 win over the Kincardine Kinucks 1 and dropped a 3-1 decision to the Kincardine Kinucks 2 team earlier this month. The team is set to take on the Kincardine Kinucks 2 squad on Feb. 27 at 4:30 p.m. in Kincardine and then is on the road again, facing off against the Wingham Ironmen on Feb. 28 in Wingham at 3 p.m. The PeeWee Rep Squad have faced some tough opposition in the start of its Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and Western Ontario Athletic Association (WOAA) playoffs. The team started strong against the Minto Mad Dogs in early January, managing a 3-1 win, but then dropped four consecutive games, three to Minto and one to the South Bruce Blades. The team turned it around recently, however, having managed a 2-1 win over the Lucknow Sepoys on Feb. 20. The squad will next take to the ice against the Drayton Defenders in Drayton on March 2. The PeeWee Local League squad have reported a single game played in this year's playoffs against Central Perth on Feb. 17. The team managed a 3-2 win over its competition. Next, the team takes on the Ripley Wolves on Feb. 27 in Brussels at 2:30 p.m. and then face off against the Zurich Thunder in Zurich on Feb. 29. The Bantam Rep Squad have had a busy playoff season starting Jan. 10 with a loss against the Seaforth Stars in Brussels. Fortunately, over the next week, the squad was able to manage three wins against Seaforth, taking the best -of -five series. The team wasn't able to repeat that success against the South Bruce Blades late in January, however, losing the best -of -five series 3-1. Recently, the squad bested the Wingham Ironmen and the Central Perth Rep before, most recently, falling to the Ironmen 1-0 on Feb. 19. The team next takes to the ice on Feb. 25 when it faces off against the Goderich Sailors in Goderich at 7 p.m. The team then faces off against the Central Perth Rep squad in Brussels on Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. The Bantams will then take on the Seaforth Stars on Feb. 28 in Blyth at 6:30 p.m. and the Sailors again on Feb. 29 at 7:30 p.m. The Bantam Local League Squad started off its playoffs with a 3-1 win over Minto on Feb. 17, however the postseason has gone downhill from there with a loss to the BCH Ice Dogs 1 team on Feb. 19 and a loss to the South Bruce Blades on Feb. 21. The team next takes to the ice against the Lucknow Sepoys on Feb. 28 in Blyth at 5 p.m. The Midget Rep Squad lost its OMHA playoff series versus Seaforth 3-1 in January and hasn't had much better luck in its WOAA playoffs. The team was bested by the Central Perth Rep team late in January and, in February, was beat by Mitchell twice. The squad has recently turned its luck around, however, besting Central Perth 5-4 on Feb. 21. The team looks to take on the Lucknow Sepoys on Feb. 29 in Lucknow at 8:30 p.m. Last but not least, the Midget Local League squad has managed a win and a loss in its postseason play. The team was bested by the Wingham Ironmen on Feb. 11, but turned around and beat its local rivals 5-1 on Feb. 17 The team is next set to play against the Howick Hornets on Feb. 25 in Howick. For more information, check out the BBMHA's website at blythbrusselsminorhockey.ca Not in my house The Hullett Central Public School boys and girls volleyball teams travelled to Central Huron Secondary School on Feb. 16 to compete against other local schools and prove which team has the superior servers, setters and spikers. The boys squad found plenty of victory throughout the day, besting all but Clinton and Seaforth before the tournament was over.
