Returning from a sunny south
vacation was Ed McClure. Ed
reports he enjoyed his time away and
Ixtapa is a nice part of Mexico. He
stayed at an older resort, but it was
very clean, had good food and a nice
hot sun. He reports he doesn't do
many of the touristy things, but did
take a tour of the town.
We have a few more people we
send get well wishes out to. Gerry
Wheeler is in a London Hospital and
we hope he is coming along after
having surgery. He hopes to be home
sometime this week.
The Owen Sound Hospital is
where Jim Bowman had his latest
surgery. He had a knee replacement
and a few complications, so was in
hospital a few extra days. We hope
he is home now and doing well.
Hockey is a great game but
unfortunately, injuries happen. We
wish Ryan Jacklin a speedy
recovery from a badly broken
collar bone. He will be recovering
for quite awhile with no
strain or lifting. Happy healing!
We can report that George Cousins
has spent the last week in a London
Hospital, but understand he was to
be getting home sometime this
week. We hope they have been able
to resolve his problems.
Our thoughts and prayers are with
Dave Smith and family as he
struggles with his health problems.
He is patient in a London Hospital at
this time.
Our condolences to Betty
McCutcheon on the passing of her
friend Harold Leasch. He will be
missed by his family and his many
new friends he had made around the
Brussels area. The funeral was held
in Stratford. The roller coaster
weather of southwestern Ontario
keeps us guessing what will come
next. It is unfortunate that the
snowmobile season has been so
short thus far, but there is always
hope. Personally, I would rather have
the snow in February and then
March can begin to show the
signs of spring, but we'll have to see.
The unexpected change in weather
last Wednesday afternoon created
some very hazardous driving
conditions for the bus ride. The wet
snow just wanted to stick to the
windshield and as fast as the wipers
would take it away, the driving snow
would replace it again. It was a slow
going trip but managed to get
everyone home safe and sound,
albeit a little late.
We wish get -well wishes to
Stewart Steiss as he recovers from
knee replacement. We hope he gets
along as well with knee two as he
did with the first one.
There were 20 members of the
Cranbrook Dart Club who came out
to play on a stormy Wednesday
evening last week. There were two

fundraiser.
Both requests will be handled at a
future meeting after council has a
chance to have a full discussion.
While it had already been
approved, Treasurer Paula Michiels
made note of the grant of up to
$6,000 from the parkland reserve to
help fund the Brussels Dam project.
Council approved the grant
budget, which added up to $18,250,
not counting the three approvals
without attached monetary values.
The approved grants are within
council's 2016 grant budget of
$20,000.

win five games each. Team 3 of

Houston, Rita Bowers and Ev Blake.
That's the second week in a row
Team 5 has been a winner. The high
shot for the ladies was by Teuni
Smith hitting 105 and Brad
Speiran hitting 120 for the men.
Brad was also the night's lucky shot.
