The Citizen, 2016-02-11, Page 2PAGE 2. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2016. February welcomed as a A NOTE FROM BETTY By Betty Graber Watson Call 887-9231 Now that the groundhog has had its say, we can move into the love portion of this fine month, February. Who can't love February, it's short and concise, the fatigue of At the Branch Christmas is past, the bills are caught up and the exercise program is back on track. So here's to February. Perhaps, you could get your flowers ordered now and not take the chance of missing out on the red and white varieties that are pretty popular and may be all gone by the weekend. Have a Happy Valentine's Day. The hockey crowd have been busy promoting our area in the Kraft Hockeyville 2016 event. Lots of e- mails have gone to support our community and the need for arena upgrades. There is some pretty stiff resh start competition when you check the listings, but it's always good to promote community in a positive manner and hope for the best. Good work folks. Last Wednesday was a day off for the school crowd, is it a PA Day or PD day? Anyway it made my day as Jill came for a sleepover. Of course we had fun. She's a cook rather than a baker at the nine-year stage of life, so a very hearty cauldron of soup was produced after much peeling and cutting. Rice Krispie squares were whipped up and made for a pretty fine meal. The Cadets met and made plans for the winter campout which is being held at the high school in Wingham. The melting snow will make it a little difficult to "survive" in the snow, but A correction In last week's edition of The Citizen, a headline misidentified the theme of the Brussels Fall Fair, "Showing the Bounty of Huron County", instead suggesting it as the theme of the 2017 International Plowing Match. The Citizen apologizes for any confusion caused by the error. February is for Sweethearts! A disorientated robin was perched on our fence this week, hopefully getting ready to head back south for a wee while yet. Actually she looked quite cheery and gave us cause to pause and think about the weather and how it messes many things up. Oh well, just like all of life we live it, not organize it, thank goodness.
